Townley Grammar School and Erith School merge to form new Multi Academy Trust

A new Multi Academy Trust (MAT) has been formed in South-east London.

Townley Grammar School and Erith School have formed a new Multi Academy Trust (MAT) called the Odyssey Trust for Education.

As part of the merger, Erith School has been renamed King Henry School, which is in reference to both King Henry V and King Henry VIII.

Bexleyheath and Crayford MP, Sir David Evennett, who is a Patron of Townley Grammar School, said: “I warmly welcome the new Multi Academy Trust.

I have personally been a strong supporter of both Townley Grammar and Erith School for many years, and believe they have a great future together.”

Sir David also recently visited children at Bursted Wood primary school to see the school’s expansion.

So far the school has seen improvements to the school hall in order to accommodate extra children.
