Tragic outcome as missing Bexley boy is found in Sidcup woods

A 14-year-old boy has been found dead in a wooded area in after being reported missing. 

Officers were called to Dene Avenue, Sidcup, at 10.51am on Thursday after the unresponsive youth was found. 

The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: “The male has been formally identified as 14-year-old Jamie Daniel, who had been reported missing from Bexley.” 

The teenager was found just over three-and-a-half miles from where he was reported to be missing. 

Jamie was last seen leaving school in uniform and getting on the 132 bus from Eltham at around 4pm. 

The death is currently being treated as unexplained while enquiries continue, but police have confirmed that no-one else is being sought in relation to the death, 

Officers have said a file will be prepared for the coroner.
