Two buses set alight between Croydon and Merton causing over £200,000 worth of damage

Police have released a picture of a man they want to speak to about two fires on buses.

On Friday, October 8, the top floor if the 154 bus from Croydon to Morden was set alight at around 8pm while it was travelling down Mollison Drive, South Beddington.

The driver evacuated the bus after they became aware of the fire, no injuries were reported.

The bus was completely burnt out and the damage is estimated to be around £200,000.

The week before, on Sunday, October 3, another fire was lit on the 154 bus.

As the bus was travelling from West Croydon to Morden, a small fire was discovered at the back of the bus, but it was extinguished before it did serious damage.

Anyone who recognises this man, or any witnesses or people who have information that could assist the investigation are asked to call police on 101 or contact via Twitter @MetCC. Please quote CAD8509/08OCT
