Wandsworth kitten makes the cut for national pet photo contest that could bag him tasty treats

By Callum Cuddeford

A kitten has made the cut for a national pet photo contest this week and he wants your vote.

Eight-month-old Mylo enjoys chatting to his mates and chasing feet up the stairs.

But he has no idea he might win a £200 prize bundle with HiLife goodies and a load of tasty treats.

The contest asked pet mums and dads to share snaps of their cats and dogs with #LivingTheHiLife to celebrate what makes our furry friends happy.

The purr-fect puss from Wandsworth stunned a panel of pet lovers to make the five-cat shortlist, while also racking up 4,000 likes on Instagram.

Users posted comments like “Omg I just wanna squeeze him, he’s just the cutest boy!” and “Mylo, you are sweet beyond words!!!”

Mylo has his own account @mylo_the_mouser, where you can see him ‘chompin’, ‘loungin’, and getting a ‘belly rubbin’.

He is also a TikTok superstar, with one video getting 3.1 million views.

Owner Robyn Coles, 27, a product manager from Wandsworth, got the blue and cream Scottish shorthair last November, before entering him in the HiLife Pet Food competition this March.

Robyn said: “We think Mylo is beautiful no matter what, but to win a competition by other people feeling the same would be amazing.

“Of course, he’s got absolutely no idea what’s going on and how beautiful he is, but he’ll definitely know he’s been a good boy if all those prizes show up for him.

“We think all those shortlisted are wonderful so to be in their company is just lovely.”

Some of Mylo’s favourite activities include eating, sleeping, and hiding behind corners to pounce on people. And also sleeping some more.

The vote is now in the paws of the public on the HiLife Cat Facebook page where users can ‘like’ their favourite super-meowdel.

HiLife Marketing Director Sarah Alexander said: “It’s been inspiring to see so many pet owners, like Mylo and Robyn, share with us what makes their pets happy with lovely photos on social media.

“It was a tricky task picking the winners from all of the adorable pet photos we’ve received for this competition, but we’d like to thank everyone for taking part.”

HiLife Pet Food is a 30-year-old business from Leicestershire that sells around 50 million tasty meals a year for cats and dogs.

The vote at www.facebook.com/hilifefcat will close at 23:59pm on Wednesday 9th June.
