Gary Rowett has sung the praises of Millwall’s new performance coach Dave Carolan.
Carolan has previously held similar roles working under Rowett at Stoke City, Derby County and Birmingham.
Prior to that he spent seven years as a sports scientist and fitness coach at Colchester United.
Lions boss Rowett said: “Dave is someone I was really keen to bring into the building.
“He was in the process of working at a different company and it was a little bit of a challenge to get him out of there.
“I’m delighted to get him on board.
“Essentially Dave’s main role is to collate all the data in terms of what we’re doing in training and games to make sure it is where we want it to be.
“He feeds some bits of that back to the players in terms of performance and what that looks like from a physical perspective and a team perspective.
“He is hugely experienced and we’re very fortunate to have him. He’s one of the best people I’ve worked with. He adds another layer to what we’re trying to do.”
