Summer by the River festival: Outdoor films, live music nights and major sports screenings

The countdown to summer has officially begun, and London Bridge City has announced the return of its Summer by the River Festival.

Launching on May 30, this summer’s festivities offer a riverside escape in the heart of the city, with music, outdoor film and sport screening and summer cocktails.

‘The Scoop’ area of London Bridge City will be showing film screenings every Tuesday evening, from family favourites to the latest blockbusters, including Barbie and The Lost Boys.

Wednesday and Thursday nights are reserved for new music, showcasing up- and-coming talent presented by Jess Iszatt from BBC Music Introducing in London.

Your sporting needs will be well and truly met with screenings of highlights from Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, the Olympic Games and Test cricket.

On top of entertainment, profits from the two pop-up bars will go towards Bankside Open Spaces Trust which works to make London greener whilst combatting inactivity and loneliness through outdoor activities and events.
