Millwall striker back at Swindon Town after week’s training back with his parent club

Harry Smith returned to Swindon Town yesterday after a 10-day period back with Millwall.

The Lions loaned the 22-year-old to the League One club at the start of the campaign.

Smith has struggled to get starts at the County Ground and recently told the South London Press that his dad Peter is facing surgery after a period of ill-health.

The former Folkestone Invicta striker played for the Lions under-23s in their 1-1 draw against Cardiff on Monday.

“Harry has had stuff to deal with family-wise in the last few weeks,” said Millwall boss Neil Harris. “We decided it was best he came back and had a week’s training with us, just to clear his mind.

“He got 90 minutes for us on Monday to boost him physically. It was a really strong performance by him and I can definitely see the development from his loan at Swindon.

“He has done well at Swindon and come off the bench in a lot of matches. He is looking forward to going back.”
