Health trusts in Wandsworth urge adults to get vaccinated as Covid cases continue to rise

Health trusts in Wandsworth are urging adults to get vaccinated at walk-in centres as Covid-19 cases in the capital continue to rise.

In the London boroughs of Wandsworth, Richmond and Kingston, over 18s will be able to get their first or second coronavirus jabs at one of eight vaccination centres.

This comes as London saw 4,751 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the government dashboard, almost four times the 1,235 new cases reported the day before.

Out of the three boroughs, Wandsworth had the highest Covid case number of 236 on Wednesday, followed by Richmond with 127 and Kingston at 68.

Wandsworth

St George’s Hospital will be open to any adult to walk-in for their Covid jab until Sunday, July 18, from 4pm to 7pm offering the Pfizer vaccine.

Mitcham Lane Baptist Church will open Saturday July 17 from 9am to 1pm, offering Pfizer.

Battersea Arts Centre will offer the Pfizer vaccine daily until Monday 19 July from 8.30am to 6pm and AstraZeneca on Thursday 15 until Saturday 17 July from 8.30am to 6pm.

Wandsworth Common, near Bellevue Road will open on Saturday until Sunday (July 17 and 18) from 8.30am to 4.30pm, offering Pfizer.

WJ Boyes Chemist opens on Thursday July 15 until Friday July 16 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. Then it will open again on Saturday July 17 from 3pm to 7.30pm – offering Pfizer.

The Civic Suite at Wandsworth Town Hall will open Saturday July 17 from 12pm to 6pm, offering Pfizer. The MP for Battersea, Marsha de Cordova promoted it on her Twitter.

Richmond

Heathfield Junior School will open its doors on Saturday July 17 from 10am to 6pm for the over 18s to walk-in and get a Covid vaccine offering both Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.

Kingston

Hawks Road Vaccination Centre opened yesterday and will stay open until Monday July 19 from 8.30am to 6.45pm, offering the AstraZeneca vaccine.
