Millwall defender expected to be missing for ‘two to three weeks’ with groin issue
Millwall defender Murray Wallace is set to be out for at least a couple of weeks with his groin injury.
The Scot came off in Saturday’s 2-1 win at Bristol City and missed Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over Watford.
Wallace went for a scan at the start of this week.
Lions boss Gary Rowett told the South London Press: “I think he’s going to be two or three weeks. It wasn’t too bad an injury but, nevertheless, one that is more than just a tightness or more than just a little niggle.
“He’s pulled a muscle in his groin area but we’re hoping that because Muzza is such a great athlete and so professional that if he gets a three-week injury, you’ve got a chance it might be two.
“It helps when we win games like that [against Watford], when Scottie [Malone] comes into the team and performs brilliantly. It means we can take our time with any player, rather than rushing them back desperately when you have got a good alternative.”
