Arrest made over fatal stabbing of teenager on bus in Croydon

Police have arrested a man in connection with the fatal stabbing of Damani Mauge in Croydon.

A 17-year-old man from Mitcham was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday and remains in police custody.

Police were called at approximately 8.30pm on Sunday, March 8 to reports of a stabbing on a 130 bus in Whitehorse Lane.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended.

Damani Mauge, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 9pm.

Next of kin are aware and being supported by specially trained officers.

A post mortem took place on Tuesday and the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.

At this early stage, it is believed the victim was involved in an altercation on a bus prior to the attack.
