Have your say on Old Kent Road regeneration plans
Residents will be encouraged to have their say on whether regeneration along the Old Kent Road will bring benefits to local people.
Southwark council’s cabinet approved the draft version of the Social Regeneration Charter to go out to consultation over the next six weeks.
The charter includes 10 council promises about regeneration in the area, including better air quality, more open space, creating 10,000 new jobs and providing 5,000 new social rented homes.
Cllr Leo Pollak, cabinet member for Social Regeneration, Great Estates and New Council Homes, said: “The regeneration plans for the Old Kent Road will define the borough for generations to come.
This is why we have to be sure it works for all the community, working to measurably reduce heath, housing and economic inequalities in the borough.”
