Raw sewage pours through the street next to primary school

Raw sewage has been pouring through the streets next to a Purley primary school for at least two days.
Parents first noticed the human waste flooding the street on Monday morning (October 18).
Mum Alicia Carson who has a child in Year 1 said: “Next to the school there is an alleyway and there was just raw sewage all over the pavement and flowing down the road.
“One of the other mums who lives in the area said it happened over the weekend and so many of the residents had been putting in complains but nobody has come out to clean it up.
“This is a health hazard, it is disgusting, especially next to a primary school.”
The school said it has reported the issue to Thames Water after being directed to them by Croydon Council.
A spokesperson for Thames Water said that there have previously been sewer blockages in this area but engineers are “due to visit and investigate”.
