Two Brewers bags a place in the 2024 Great British Pub Awards Finals

A beloved South London pub has secured its place in the final of the 2024 Great British Pub Awards (GBPAs).

The Two Brewers in High Street, Clapham, which has “proudly served the LGBTQIA+ community” since 1981, is vying for the title of ‘Best Pub for Entertainment’.

The GBPAs features a four-stage judging process, in which renowned industry experts judge sites in an array of categories.

The Front Room of the Two Brewers, with its gold glitter and bright lights, transforms weekly to host events ranging from cabaret and comedy to themed nights and open mic, whilst The Club Room morphs from a cabaret club during the week to a nightclub on weekends.

Events run seven nights a week, 52 weeks a year, offering everything from Monday cabaret with Amy LaQueefa to Sunday’s iconic Power of 4. Monthly shows in the backroom include comedy nights, burlesque, and poetry, alongside regular drag competitions and RuPaul’s Drag Race screenings.

The venue has raised significant funds for charities such as Stonewall Housing, Wandsworth Oasis, and LGBTQIA+ Ukrainians.

Jimmy Smith, general manager of Two Brewers, said: “We are thrilled to be a finalist in the awards.

“Winning the award would be a huge recognition of our team’s hard work and our dedication to providing the best night out for our community.”

The annual Great British Pub Awards will host a ceremony on September 17, at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, where the best of the best in the pub industry will be unveiled.
