Bradford City v Charlton Athletic team news: Jamie Ward makes Addicks debut as Bowyer makes three changes

Jamie Ward makes his Charlton debut as Lee Bowyer makes three changes for this afternoon’s trip to Bradford City.

Josh Cullen and Ben Reeves also come into the side, with Bowyer opting for an expected 4-4-2 set-up.

Northern Irish international Ward finally features for the Addicks – he had been away with his national team since joining the South Londoners on loan from Nottingham Forest two weeks ago.

Cullen, who was also away on international duty last weekend for the Republic of Ireland, features again in the centre of midfield after impressing during the Addicks’ 2-1 win at Southend a fortnight ago. He returns to the club where he made 40 appearances during the Bantams’ march to the League One play-off final two seasons ago.

Former Milton Keynes man Reeves makes his first league start of the season, having proved influential from the bench during last weekend’s 3-2 victory over Wycombe Wanderers.

Naby Sarr is benched, with Darren Pratley and Nicky Ajose both ruled out through injury.

Charlton: Steer, Page, Bauer, Pearce, Solly, Aribo, Cullen, Reeves, Ward, Taylor, Grant. Subs: Phillips, Sarr, Dijksteel, Marshall, Morgan, Lapslie, Vetokele.
