Bruno Saltor makes Graham Potter admission after Chelsea sacking
Bruno Saltor says Graham Potter did an amazing job with Chelsea after he was sacked following the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on the weekend.
Interim boss Saltor has been placed in charge for tomorrow’s game at home to Liverpool after Potter was sacked on Sunday evening.
The ex-Brighton defender left the Seagulls along with Potter after Chelsea poached the former Swansea boss from the Amex earlier in the season.
Chelsea have only picked up four wins in 2023 and are 11th in the Premier League table.
“It has been a difficult 24 hours for all of us – for the staff, for the families, and now we have to live with the situation,” said Saltor.
“At the end of the day, all of us are responsible. We have to keep positive and focus on tomorrow’s game – that’s the energy we’re working on.
“If I’m here right now, it’s because Graham and the club thought it was the right step. I’m just here to help the club in the best way I can.
“I’m trying to keep the process going, we try to collaborate the best we can. Graham did an amazing job, football is a really complex business and we have to keep going.
“The players will be sad because they know the type of human Graham is. They will take responsibility.
“It’s a massive challenge. I have a lot of experience in changing rooms and what I’ll try to do is guide the players.”
