Chelsea keeper makes Real Madrid loan

Chelsea stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga has joined Spanish giants Real Madrid on a season-long loan.

Los Blancos required a new first-team goalkeeper after Madrid’s regular number one Thibaut Courtois suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in training.

The Spanish keeper has made 163 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Athletic Bilbao for ÂŁ71million in August 2018.

Robert Sanchez joined the Blues this summer from Brighton and started the 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

Senegal international goalkeeper Edouard Mendy also left Chelsea this summer, joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

Marcus Bettinelli is the only senior keeper left alongside Sanchez at Stamford Bridge.
