Crystal Palace quartet set to make provisional Euro 2024 England squad

Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, Marc Guehi, Dean Henderson and Eberechi Eze are all set to be included in Gareth Southgate’s provisional England squad for Euro 2024.

The four players all started against Unai Emery’s Champions League-bound Aston Villa side, with England assistant manager Steve Holland in attendance at Selhurst Park.

Greenwich-born Eze has 15 Premier League goal contributions to his name this season and bagged a brace in Palace’s 5-0 win over Villa on Sunday.

Eze was expected to be included in England’s provisional 33-man squad for the delayed Euro 2020 tournament, but he suffered an Achilles injury the same day as the squad announcement.

Marc Guehi, who has been a regular fixture under Southgate since making his England debut in March 2022, made his first start against Villa under Oliver Glasner after recovering from a minor knee operation.

Wharton, 20, joined the Eagles from Blackburn in the January transfer window and has been a hit at Selhurst Park. The midfielder’s fine form has seen him earn a call-up to Southgate’s senior squad for the first time in his career, having only been promoted to the U21 side for the first time in March.

Henderson has made 18 Premier League appearances for the Eagles since joining from Manchester United in the summer and has kept three clean sheets in his last six outings. The former Sheffield United loanee was included as one of the three goalkeepers in the squad for Euro 2020.
