Crystal Palace transfer deal set to be decided by tribunal

by Sports Reporter

Nathan Ferguson’s move to Crystal Palace is set to be decided by a tribunal as they have been unable to agree a fee with West Bromwich Albion.

The Eagles recently announced the capture of the defender, 19, on a three-year contract.

Ferguson was out of contract this summer but because he is under the age of 24 it means the Baggies still get paid.

Ferguson’s move to Palace was set to go through in January but a medical picked up a knee injury which required surgery.

The Eagles put the deal on ice but made him their first signing of the summer transfer window.

Midlands press have reported that Palace recently made an offer to West Brom which they described as being “rejected out of hand”.

The Baggies have also briefed that a £12million  deal was agreed with the South London club at the start of 2020.

Compensation could be key for Albion as manager Slaven Bilic is only thought to have around £25m to spend on signings after they won promotion to the Premier League.

Palace are keen on a deal for Ismaila Sarr – but Watford are demanding £30m.

The Senegalese attacker, 22, has four years to run on his contract at Vicarage Road but the Hornets’ relegation to the Championship means they will struggle to fend off serious approaches.

Watford snapped up Sarr from Rennes last summer for a reputed fee of £27m.

He broke into the side in November and scored five times in 28 Premier League appearances.
