Fehervar make bid for Charlton Athletic midfielder George Dobson
Fehervar are the Hungarian club interested in signing Charlton Athletic captain George Dobson.
Our website exclusively revealed that there was overseas interest in the former West Ham United and Sunderland midfielder, who is out of contract at the end of June.
And the South London Press understands that Fehervar have bid for Dobson but have not been able to agree a fee with the League One club.
Charlton technical director Andy Scott told our paper in late December: “We have offered two contracts to George and had little back from his agent.
“It seems like he’s going to go into the January window and see what options are out there.
“Everyone could see on Saturday (a 1-1 draw at Barnsley) how committed he is to the football club. The performance he put in was excellent again.”
Dobson’s terms put him in the same boat as Corey Blackett-Taylor, whose loan move to Derby County was confirmed this evening.
Blackett-Taylor had indicated he would not renew terms and would have moved for nothing in the summer. Instead Charlton received a £300,000 loan fee.
Dobson has made 128 appearances for Charlton since joining after his Sunderland contract was terminated – the most of any member of the current squad.
