Former Millwall midfielder hopes Lions can make play-offs

Liam Trotter is rooting for former club Millwall to reach the Championship play-offs.

The Lions are on an 11-game unbeaten run which has pushed them into contention to make a late play for the top-six.

Trotter, now at AFC Wimbledon, said: “Since I left I always check Millwall results. I want them to do well. They have got Chopper [Neil Harris] in charge, who I played with. I’ll always want him to do well.

“It is great to see they are going so well this season. It is a bit like when we went up from League One [in 2010] and had a chance of getting into the play-offs right up until we lost to Swansea [in the penultimate match]. It is very similar in that sense.

“Steve Morison is still doing so well. I’ve got quite a few friends over there, I played with George Saville.

“I hope they do manage to nick a play-off spot.”
