Lincoln City call off Easter fixture after Covid-19 cases – will that affect Charlton game going ahead?
Lincoln City have postponed their Good Friday match against Milton Keynes due to an outbreak of Covid-19 – with no mention yet whether that will affect their trip to Charlton Athletic next Tuesday.
The Addicks are in action at Doncaster Rovers on Friday and are due to follow up with a Valley date against one of their League One promotion rivals.
But Lincoln announced on Tuesday night that a number of players and staff had tested positive for Covid-19.
“Following discussions with Public Health Lincolnshire and the EFL, the decision has been made to close the Soper of Lincoln Elite Performance Centre to protect the health and wellbeing of all of those connected with the club,” they said in a statement.
“This closure has led to the postponement of our upcoming fixture versus MK Dons in Sky Bet League One.
“News on the rearranged date for the postponed fixture will be communicated in due course and until that point, in the interest of medical privacy, the club will be making no further comment.”
