Millwall boss Harris has praise – and no critcism – for Lee Gregory’s “outstanding” display against Rotherham United
Millwall manager Neil Harris has praised Lee Gregory’s performance in Saturday’s stalemate with Rotherham United.
The Lions’ top-scorer had a great chance to win it at the death when Jed Wallace put the ball into his path, only for the frontman to finish past the left upright.
But Harris was not about to criticise Gregory. He said: “A lot of the lads had goalscoring opportunities, Lee’s was more cutting because it was right at the end of the game – literally the last kick of the game.
“He has been a talisman for me, in terms of scoring goals, and against Everton he was a big part of us getting through.
“Lee Gregory individual performance at the weekend was outstanding – especially in the first half when he battled three centre-halves on his own.
“He was excellent and a goal would have been fitting for what he had put into the game.
“He’s a goalscorer and will be more disappointed than anybody. But his performance was great. He was in the right position but just couldn’t get it on target for whatever reasons.
“That happens, you don’t know if it was a little bit of fatigue. Lee will move on to next Saturday and sticking one into the net.”
