Millwall make loan move for Barnsley’s Callum Styles
Millwall are hoping to beat the transfer deadline cut-off and sign Barnsley’s Callum Styles on loan.
The 22-year-old, capped six times by Hungary, has travelled south for his medical.
But the Lions are facing a race against the clock to get the switch completed in time. There is set to be an option to buy at the end of his loan spell.
Styles has also been linked with Sheffield United and Tykes manager Michael Duff gave little away earlier today when quizzed about his future. He said: “The situation is the same as it’s been since the first day I walked in the door and the first interview I did.
“The same names were getting mentioned and so from my point of view, nothing’s changed. If they get sold, they get sold. My job is to work with the players. Speculation has been rife, and we’ll wait and see.
“There’s been interest in players and we have got lots of interest in players. I’d be sat here until the deadline is done speaking about rumours and things like that.”
Styles, who started his career at Burnley, can play in central midfield and also as a left wing-back.
He was released by the Clarets at 16 and signed for Bury. Styles was sold to Barnsley for a reported fee of £500,000 in August 2018.
