Oliver Burke’s absence from Millwall’s squad for Burnley visit explained

Oliver Burke is one of two changes made by Millwall manager Gary Rowett for tonight’s home game against Burnley.

The Lions attacker is absent from the matchday squad due to illness.

It means that January signing Aidomo Emakhu, snapped up from Shamrock Rovers on January 1, is on the bench for the first time.

Hat-trick hero Tom Bradshaw also drops out of the starting line up. Rowett talked about some players needing their minutes carefully managed after Millwall’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Sheffield United in SE16 at the weekend.

The Lions are set to play Andreas Voglsammer, who picked up two assists against the Blades, in the central attacking role.

George Honeyman and Duncan Watmore come into the starting line up in the wide attacking roles.

Burnley are 15 points clear of third-placed Middlesbrough and are unbeaten in their last 12 matches, winning 11 of them.

The Lions have not won any of their last five meetings with the Clarets, drawing two and losing three.
