QPR boss Marti Cifuentes quizzed on Lyndon Dykes’ future following Plymouth draw
Marti Cifuentes remained tight-lipped on the future of Lyndon Dykes after the striker was left out of the squad for QPR’s 1-1 draw with Plymouth Argyle.
Dykes scored a late equaliser in Rangers’ previous league game against Sheffield United but watched the game against Argyle from the directors’ box at Loftus Road despite not being injured, according to Cifuentes.
The Scottish international has fallen down the pecking order in W12 following the summer signing of Zan Celar.
When asked if Dykes was likely to remain at QPR beyond the end of the transfer window, Cifuentes replied: “I don’t know about this question.
“I just pick players who are available. He was not available and I just try to focus on the players that are on the pitch. They did a good job.”
QPR have brought in eight new players over the summer transfer window following the arrival of Danish midfielder Nicolas Madsen on Friday.
The new signing from Belgian side KV Westerlo was handed a start against Plymouth.
Cifuentes is still hoping for further additions before the window closes on August 30.
“It is still an open window for everybody,” he said.
“The club knows what I think, some players who have come in have shown exactly what was needed and I think it is about just making sure that we maximise our opportunities in the next days.”
