Southampton step up permanent Jesurun Rak-Sakyi bid – with Leeds United also chasing loan deal for Crystal Palace winger
Premier League rivals Southampton have increased their permanent offer for Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi over the weekend.
The Eagles have knocked back a loan-to-buy approach and a straight transfer offer in the region of £7million from the Saints.
Southampton wanted Rak-Sakyi, 21, on loan for their promotion push in the Championship last January but the Southwark-born winger stayed with the South Londoners.
The former Chelsea youngster made six Premier League appearances for Palace last season in an injury-hit campaign.
Promotion hopefuls Leeds United want to sign Rak-Sakyi on loan for their upcoming Championship campaign, with at least 18 clubs in the second tier registering their interest in a deal for the former Charlton loanee.
Plymouth, QPR, Luton and Sheffield United all want Rak-Sakyi.
Palace have previously shown initial interest in Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville.
