It’s time for PR at the next general election

I am writing to share my experience at the recent Sort The System mass lobby of Parliament where I met Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP to discuss our demand: proportional representation (PR) for Westminster elections.

The depth of support for changing the electoral system was clear.

People from all walks of life, representing a diverse range of political perspectives, united under the belief that our current system of first past the post is failing us.

And the evidence is mounting. Recent polls consistently show a growing majority in favour of replacing this outdated system.
It’s time for our MPs to take notice.

The next election must be the last under first past the post.

The public’s demand for change is undeniable, and the case for PR is compelling. It ensures that every vote counts, no matter where you live or who you support.

I urge my fellow residents of Streatham to join the chorus of voices advocating for electoral reform.

Contact your MP, sign petitions, and get involved in local campaigns.

Together, let’s make proportional representation a reality and breathe new life into our democracy.
