Preston North End v Charlton Athletic team news: Jonny Williams makes first start since return from injury
BY LOUIS MENDEZ
Jonny Williams makes his first start since mid-October as Charlton travel to Deepdale to face Preston North End this afternoon.
Welsh international Williams replaces Conor Gallagher in the Addicks midfield following the youngster’s surprise recall by parent club Chelsea.
Charlton boss Lee Bowyer is only able to name six subs, with Jake Forster-Caskey not included in the matchday squad despite making an appearance off the bench during last week’s 2-2 draw with leaders West Brom.
Erhun Oztumer features on the bench for the first time since suffering an injury against Sheffield Wednesday at the end of November.
Aston Villa loanee Andre Green faces the club he spent the first-half of this campaign playing for – whilst 20-year-old Josh Davison keeps his place in the starting line-up ahead of senior striker Tomer Hemed.
Charlton: Phillips, Lockyer, Oshilaja, Sarr, Matthews, Doughty, Pratley, Dempsey, Williams, Green, Davison. Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Pearce, Purrington, Oztumer, Hemed, Morgan.
