Charlton owner Thomas Sandgaard wants to set up advisory group of fans
Thomas Sandgaard has mooted forming an advisory panel of Charlton Athletic supporters – so he can can get a feel for the opinions of the fanbase.
The Danish businessman is settling into life at the helm of the League One club after his recent takeover.
Sandgaard is the sole director and has also taken on the role of chief executive, a role which had been vacant since Katrien Meire moved to Sheffield Wednesday in January 2018.
But the Colorado-based businessman, who has made his millions in selling medical devices, is determined to have a line of communication to supporters.
“We’ve got to figure out how do that the right way,” he told the South London Press last week.
“I have a lot of dialogue with them. I’m also going to see if I can find a way to get some involved.
“Instead of a formal board of directors, maybe I’ll set up an advisory board just for supporters, so that each of the different groups has a representative.
“One of those can be the supporters’ trust (CAST} and then four or five other people. It will be good to hear all their voices – putting something together like that.
“I’m not sure if fans at other clubs have that – but at a club like Charlton it would probably be helpful.”
