Wilfried Zaha gives verdict on Palace’s win at Fulham + whether he is enjoying his football

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Wilfried Zaha felt Crystal Palace had far more of a cutting edge in Crystal Palace’s 2-1 win at Fulham yesterday.

The Eagles attacker caused the home side no end of problems.

Zaha set up Jairo Riedewald for Palace’s opening goal before doubling their advantage in the second half with his fifth Premier League goal of the season.

The Eagles were able to effectively counter-attack against a Fulham side who are winless and bottom of the standings.

Zaha’s converted penalty was the only shot that Palace had on target the weekend before in a 1-1 draw against Brighton.

Asked by BT Sport if it was a great team performance at Craven Cottage, Zaha replied: “One-hundred per cent. We definitely needed to bounce back. We played okay last game, but we needed to show more attacking sense. I felt we did that today.”

The Palace frontman has wanted to move in previous windows but no club has been able to come in with the kind of huge financial package to land the club’s standout attacker.

Zaha already has one more goals than he managed in the entire 2019-20 campaign.

Asked how much he is enjoying his football, he responded: “I love football, so there is no day where I’m not enjoying it really. I’ve set myself personal goals and that’s what I’m attacking every day.”
