Busy Wandsworth shopping mall knife fight ends with 15-year-old stabbed to death in front of disbelieving onlookers

A 15-year-old boy has died after being stabbed in a knife fight outside Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth.

Patrolling Met Police were close to the scene when a group of males started fighting near opposite Sainsbury’s on Garratt Lane, at around 4.58pm.

Two victims were found near the Garratt Lane Burial Ground with knife injuries.

A video on social media shows police and first responders desperately performing CPR on one victim.

A Met Police spokesperson said tonight: “One of the males stabbed in Wandsworth earlier this evening has died in hospital.

“He is believed to have been aged 15.”

A second victim, believed to be 16, remains in hospital.

Two males have been arrested – one on suspicion of GBH.

Both males are in police custody and police are investigating what took place while Specialist Crime detectives have been informed.

Paramedics took both victims to hospital. The 16-year-old sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. He remains in hospital.

Of the males who have been arrested, the one held on suspicion of GBH had suffered a head injury that did not require hospital treatment, Met Police said.

A Section 60 Order, giving police extra powers to stop and search, was authorised for the whole of Wandsworth from 5.58pm yesterday.
