Millwall midfielder set to be ruled out for at least two months with new hamstring injury

Billy Mitchell is facing another extended spell on the sidelines – after suffering a fresh hamstring injury on Millwall U23 duty earlier this week.

The 19-year-old midfielder had been out since pre-season but recently made his playing return for Kevin Nugent’s side.

Mitchell was boosting his fitness levels ahead of a first-team return.

But the teenager’s latest setback is expected to keep him out for between eight and 10 weeks.

He came off at half time in the U23s’ 2-0 defeat to Wigan on Tuesday.

Mitchell will now not return until 2021.
