QPR chief admits Bright Osayi-Samuel could make January transfer exit – if price is right

Mark Warburton says Queens Park Rangers are still in talks with Bright Osayi-Samuel over a new deal, but concedes he could leave in January should someone come in with the right offer.
The winger -who has been linked previously with Crystal Palace – starred in Rangers’ 3-2 win over Rotherham United, scoring a goal and teeing up another as they survived the Millers’ spirited second-half fightback.
Osayi-Samuel, whose deal expires in June 2021, remains in talks with club officials but Warburton has said the R’s talisman’s situation is “different” to other players in the squad.
He said: “Is there a chance [he leaves in January]? If someone wants to buy him, yes of course. If someone wants to buy him. But, obviously, there’s a compensation aspect in terms of Brighty. It’s a different situation to the other players in terms of the rulings.
“If someone wants to buy him, I’m sure they can, but every player in the world has got a price. As long as QPR get the right value… that’s life.”
Asked why the Osayi-Samuel’s situation is different to others, Warburton added: “Age. Different age of the players, in terms of UEFA regulations and whatever else. There’s different compensation aspects to it. That’s all it is.
“Obviously, above that, I can’t divulge details but it’s a different situation to the older players. Right now, all he’s concentrating on is playing football. That’s what he needs to do – enjoy his football, enjoy being a good player and enjoy playing for QPR.”
