Deprived kids given computers to boost education

Deprived black and ethnic minority children were given high quality computers to boost their education, thanks to a charity project.
The charity Ekpoma Okpa Association, which supports people with ties to the town Ekpoma in Nigeria, provided 14 children between the ages of seven and 13 with HP laptops so they could complete online school work and develop key digital skills.
The event, which took place on December 5 in Decima Street, Southwark, was attended by Member of Parliament for Bermondsey and Old Southwark, Neil Coyle.
He tweeted: “Great to see these laptops being distributed to young people today in #SE1 to help with studying as a result of school learning still being so disrupted and so many children isolating/studying at home.
“A future lawyer and surgeon in the room if dreams are achieved.”
