Striker boost for Millwall but still selection issues for Gary Rowett as he gears up for Coventry City

Kenneth Zohore looks set to come back into Millwall’s squad for Saturday’s home match against Coventry City.

The 26-year-old striker, who is on loan from West Bromwich Albion, has missed the last 12 matches with a calf injury.

Zohore, inset, scored his first Lions goal in their 2-0 win at Preston on October 28 but came off with the issue in that game.

Millwall’s matches over the Christmas period were postponed after a number of Covid-19 cases in their playing squad.

“Ken could potentially be available but obviously we have to think what would be sensible minutes-wise,” said Millwall manager Gary Rowett. “With Ken we have got to tread a little bit carefully.

“But we’ve also got other players who had positive Covid tests and we’ve got no idea where they are going to be at – both in terms of their fitness and their health – for the weekend.

“At this moment in time it means anyone who is fit and hasn’t got Covid has a chance of playing.

“Scott Malone will be back available but Connor Mahoney [quad] and Billy Mitchell (hamstring) are not quite there yet.”

Zohore has played 109 minutes since arriving from the Baggies and his loan only runs until the middle of January.

Millwall were keen to do a short term agreement as it gave them a chance to assess the fitness and sharpness of the former Danish U21 international.
