Millwall manager Gary Rowett provides injury update on duo

Millwall boss Gary Rowett gave an update on injured duo Billy Mitchell and Connor Mahoney.

Lions midfielder Mitchell has been missing since the start of pre-season and is yet to feature.

Winger Mahoney (quad) has not played since the start of November.

Rowett said: “They have both been training with the team.

“I felt today’s game was too soon, you have to be realistic with players that have been out for a long period of time. Billy’s been out since the first week of pre-season so therefore I think he needs two, three, four weeks of training and some U23 games before he’s available for us.

“Connor Mahoney the same, he’s been out for about nine weeks and at the moment we need players who are fit and ready to go.”
