Lions loanee is NOT a free agent in the summer – despite claims his contract runs out

Millwall manager Gary Rowett has confirmed that Ryan Woods is not a free agent at the end of June.

Some websites have the on-loan midfielder’s deal at Stoke City expiring this summer.

But Rowett said: “Ryan has got another year at Stoke.

“He is a player who we have got on loan this season – that’s the agreement at the moment.

“I signed Woodsy at Stoke and I’ve had him here for 18 months. He is a player I trust. And even now I think there is more to come – he has been better recently in a midfield three. He has played that a lot in his career and it’s one of the reasons I’ve gone to a three – it suits the players in there.”

Woods, 27, has made 29 appearances in all competitions for Millwall this season. He is three games shy of a half century for the SE16 outfit.
