Tooting & Mitcham chairman Steve Adkins says they will be “delighted” to host Dulwich Hamlet’s remaining home matches if they are forced out of Champion Hill.

Hamlet have hit the headlines this week as it looked as if they could be left playing away from their normal base for the remainder of the Bostik League Premier Division season.

But it appeared earlier this week that Meadow Residential, who own the stadium, could be ready to perform a U-turn.

Dulwich chairman Liam Hickey had met with Tooting & Mitcham and Carshalton Athletic.

Tooting chief Adkins said: “We are delighted to announce that Tooting & Mitcham United have agreed to host Dulwich Hamlet for their last few games of the season in the event that they are unable to continue playing at Champion Hill.

“We are pleased to be able to help a fellow club within the Isthmian League.  This is subject to the league giving their consent

“We do very much hope that Dulwich will be able to resolve their issues speedily and we wish the club all the very best in their endeavours.”
