Karl Robinson has told any of his Charlton players who have given up on the League One play-offs to stay away from the club.

The Addicks lost 4-1 at Peterborough on Saturday to further dent their play-off aspirations.

Charlton have their re-arranged game at Blackpool on Tuesday night before facing Fleetwood Town at The Valley next weekend.

“They [Peterborough] are ruthless between the posts – that’s the difference today,” said Robinson.

“I’ve said if you don’t think you can achieve it then please tell me now. If you don’t believe, just go home. Don’t bother. You have can the next six weeks off, we’ll pay you. We’ll pay you over if you don’t think you can achieve something.

“Don’t bother being around me or the players being negative. That’s as cold as you have got to be at this time of the year.

“You win on Tuesday and we are one point away from the play-offs. You win the next two and you probably end up in the play-offs, this time next weekend. But we have got to win the two – simple as that. You can’t rue what has gone.

“Seven points out of nine would have been a perfect week. We can only get a maximum of six. We dust ourselves off. If you take your chances then we win.”

Asked about how to solve his side’s lack of a clinical touch, Robinson replied: “Buy one in January, buy one in the summer.

“Go and buy one.”
