It took until the 72nd minute for Borough to break down the disciplined Faversham defence. Jack Barham dropped into a pocket of space to receive the ball and ran at the Faversham back line, drawing defenders to him, before cooly sliding in the impressive Ryan King-Elliott down the right- he drove into the area and cut the ball back for the onrushing Kaka Dembele to net for the South Londoners.

“We spoke about the need to take care of our own business and with Saturday and [last] Tuesday bringing in maximum points, the boys have delivered.

“We have said that everyone has done brilliant up to here, but all we have done is given ourselves a chance. What we do from here on in and being able to take that chance is something that will take everyone and everything we have – sticking together and pushing each other right to the last kick of the season.

“In each game someone will need to be a match-winner and it will need leaders all over the pitch. I am confident we have all of that.”
