Millwall man deserved a goal against Sheffield Wednesday – but unlikely to get it
Gary Rowett reckons Mahlon Romeo deserved Millwall’s last goal against Sheffield Wednesday – but admitted Tom Bradshaw is claiming it.
The wing-back intercepted Barry Bannan’s crossfield pass before seeing his strike hit the back of the net.
But substitute Bradshaw appeared to get the final touch for the Lions’ final goal in their 4-1 victory at The Den.
Rowett said: “I think it’s deservedly Mahlon’s goal in the way he has strode forward. It was his shot which ends up in the bottom corner. There is certainly a deflection.
“I think Bradders is running around like a typical striker claiming it is his goal. I haven’t watched it back but the lads say it has come off Tom.
“In some way I’m not bothered either way. Mahlon deserved it for his performance overall but sometimes you don’t get what you deserve.”
