An actor who landed a starring role in a new independent British crime film, Get Gone, is receiving rave reviews for his acting.
Alex Guilford, 30, plays the lead actor Aaron in the gritty crime drama which has just been released on Amazon Prime Video.
Mr Guilford, who lives in Streatham, won the lead part when director Gurmit Samra was blown away by his audition.

He decided to take a gamble by giving the main role to Alex, an actor new on the scene and with no previous experience in feature films.
Mr Guilford said: “Gurmit took a huge leap of faith in me as an unknown actor. I even had my own doubts at times but he was adamant I was the right person for the role and I genuinely think that faith made me a better actor.”
Director Mr Samra, who made the film on a shoestring budget said: “For me, casting for this production gave me a chance to discover new talent who were not afraid to try new approaches. From his first audition to his casting tape, Alex nailed it. He took on my direction and made the role his own.”
