Bad news for Millwall as key striker set to be missing

Gary Rowett admitted that it’s been a ‘tough’ week for Millwall in terms of injury setbacks – and revealed that Kenneth Zohore is set to be added to their list of unavailable players.

The Lions have lost both Ryan Leonard and Maikel Kieftenbeld to injury this week. Playmaker Jed Wallace has had to start the last two games on the bench.

Billy Mitchell returned to the matchday squad for today’s 2-1 victory at Reading. The 19-year-old midfielder had not featured this season before the trip to Berkshire due to hamstring injuries.

“We’ve had a tough week,” said Millwall boss Rowett. “Lenny was out, Kieftenbeld was out and Shane Ferguson was out.

“Kenneth Zohore looks like he might be out [after] today. Connor Mahoney has been out…and Billy. We’ve just got to keep shuffling the pack. That’s when you need a strong group and players to come in and have a good effect.

“The players who came in today weren’t feeling sorry for themselves, they were trying to win the game for their team-mates. The players that came on to the pitch today changed the mentality and the psychology for us and won us the game, quite frankly.”
