Fulham boss has update on Aleksandar Mitrovic return date
Aleksandar Mitrovic will not be cleared for a Fulham return until after this weekend’s home game against Sheffield United – with the Serbian striker recently testing positive for Covid-19.
The Whites frontman sat out the 2-0 victory at Everton on Sunday.
“As long as it goes to plan he’ll be selectable after the Sheffield game,” said Fulham boss Scott Parker.
Fulham had centre-back Terence Kongolo on the bench at Goodison Park.
The Dutch defender has had injury issues since joining the west Londoners and his only appearance this season came in the FA Cup tie at QPR.
“We were probably a bit forced in that sense [to include him at the weekend] because Mitro was out and Joe Bryan picked up an injury,” said Parker.
“Terence had been training with us for one week. He wouldn’t have been in that position if it wasn’t for the injuries we had. He came with us so he could work after the game as well and be on the bench.
“He needs some football and he needs some games. There are some U23s ones coming up.”
