Charlton Athletic v Burton Albion team line-ups: Five changes made by Addicks boss for Valley fixture

Lee Bowyer has made five changes for Charlton’s home game against Burton Albion tonight – including a recall for club captain Jason Pearce.

Pearce slots into defence as Akin Famewo, who made return from an ankle injury with a 90-minute shift at Fleetwood Town on Saturday, dropping to the bench.

Other changes see Ben Purrington, Adam Matthews, Ben Watson and Diallang Jaiyesimi come into the starting line up in place of Ian Maatsen, Chris Gunter, Matt Smith and Ronnie Schwartz.

The Addicks get another chance to improve their poor record at The Valley. They are 17th in the table for home form this season – taking 16 points from 13 matches. Only three clubs have conceded more goals on their own patch – tonight’s opponents, Wigan and Rochdale.

Charlton are six without a victory in SE7, losing their last two.

Charlton: Amos, Matthews, Oshilaja, Pearce, Purrington, Pratley, Watson, Shinnie, Millar, Jaiyesimi, Stockley. Subs: Harness, Famewo, Aneke, Washington, Smith, Maatsen, Schwartz.

Burton Albion: Garratt, Edwards, Bostwick, Wallace, Akins, Smith, Carter, Gallacher, Clare, Fondop, Hamer. Subs: O’Hara, Brayford, Powell, Varney, Broom, Mancienne, Rowe.
