Can you help pay for Henry to get CAT scan?

A woman and her daughter are appealing for help to pay for a CT scan for their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel whose eye swells and seeps blood and gunk.

Donna Murphy, 57, and her 19-year-old daughter, Meg, of New Cross Road, hope to raise funds so they can find out what is wrong with six-year-old Henry. The CT scan, could cost £1,780.

Donna said: “Before this he was a nice, playful little thing – he was affectionate and wanted to be with you all the time.

“Now he’s out of character and just lifeless.

“He used to love going to the park, but he just doesn’t want to do anything. I feel for him
because he’s probably feeling really rough.”

Henry has started urinating around the house which he has never done before.

Donna said: “It’s hard to see him like this. My daughter gets emotional all the time, she just doesn’t even want to leave him.”

Donna is unable to work as she is disabled and Meg lost her job in March during the first lockdown.

Meg is passionate about animals and went to Capel Manor College to study Animal Management.

Donna said: “When she sees him suffering like this you can imagine how she’s feeling. She doesn’t want to leave his side.”

Henry’s like a cat with nine lives as he survived being knocked down by two cars in New Cross Road without a scratch when he was three-years-old.

Donna said: “He was extremely lucky. We’re lucky to have him so if anything does happen to him we’re on the ball straight away.”

The problem started in September when Henry’s eye started swelling and his head was tender as he would cower at their touch.

It is likely that Henry will need an operation as well, so Donna started a GoFundMe page.

Donna said: “We are very grateful because people have been very generous and right now there is quite a bit of money in there but it’s trying to find the rest of it.”

The GoFundMe has raised £635 so far.

Henry’s CT scan is booked for the February 24.
