Charlton Athletic boss outlines comeback plan for Ryan Inniss

Ryan Inniss is set to resume training with Charlton Athletic today and then play an U23 match next week.

The 25-year-old has been out with a quad injury since the start of November and missed the last 23 League One matches.

Charlton won all five league games that Inniss played before suffering his setback, keeping clean sheets in four of them.

“Ryan is back with us,” said Addicks manager Lee Bowyer. “Next week we’ll be looking to play him in an U23 game and see how he goes from there.

“We can’t go mad with him. He has been out for a long time.

“It has been difficult for him [being sidelined for an extended period] and it’s been difficult for everyone because he did really well. Then we lost him and then we struggled. He has been a big player out for us.”
