Charlton boss provides injury update ahead of Doncaster Rovers match

Conor Washington will definitely miss Charlton’s Good Friday trip to Doncaster Rovers.

The in-form striker was an early injury casualty at Plough Lane before the international break, with Diallang Jaiyesimi an early change for the Northern Ireland international.

Washington (hamstring) did not go away on duty with his country as he received treatment with the Addicks.

“Conor is not going to be available for selection,” said Charlton manager Nigel Adkins. “We’ll miss the Easter programme but he is responding as well as he can.

“It will be a big miss.

“Ryan Inniss got 60 minutes against Brentford’s B team last week. That’s positive. He has trained with us all week as he progresses his level of fitness. We had a couple of other lads who played in the Brentford game who have recovered from injury, so we’re pleased with that.

“Liam Millar has been back at the training ground this morning after being away with Canada. I think he had the sunshine of Florida. He’s got a nice bit of glow on him, but then we had some good sun yesterday here..

“Chrissy Gunter has come back this morning and trained with us after collecting his 100th cap [with Wales].

“I’ve been pleased with the way the lads have responded and worked over these last 13 days.”
