Doncaster Rovers v Charlton Athletic team news: Ryan Inniss makes first appearance in 146 days as Nigel Adkins makes SIX changes

BY LOUIS MENDEZ

The returning Ryan Inniss comes straight in to start as Nigel Adkins makes six changes for Charlton’s lunchtime kick-off with Doncaster Rovers.

The giant centre-half last featured for the Addicks 146 days ago in an FA Cup defeat against Plymouth – before facing a prolonged spell on the side-lines with a quad injury. He replaces Akin Famewo at the Keepmoat Stadium as the Norwich loanee misses out with a minor knock.

Alex Gilbey also returns after two and a half months out of the side in the centre of the park – where Darren Pratley starts as well with Andrew Shinnie dropping to the bench and Albie Morgan missing out completely despite travelling.

Chris Gunter and Liam Millar are both benched after returning from international duty. Adam Matthews will step in at right-back with Ian Maatsen filling in at right-wing – which means Ben Purrington comes in at left-back.

Conor Washington misses out through a hamstring injury but Diallang Jaiyesimi, who scored his first Charlton goal from the bench last time out at Wimbledon, coming into what’s expected to be a 4-3-3 of sorts.

Former Addicks striker Omar Bogle starts for the home side, managed by Andy Butler who used to play for Adkins at Scunthorpe.

Like Morgan, Ronnie Schwartz and Arsenal loanee Matt Smith have both travelled but aren’t named in the matchday squad.

Charlton: Amos, Purrington, Pearce, Inniss, Matthews, Gilbey, Pratley, Forster-Caskey, Jaiyesimi, Maatsen, Stockley. Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Gunter, Oshilaja, Aneke, Shinnie, Watson, Millar.
