Bermondsey’s Chris Kongo wins wide points verdict on Greenwich show at the 02 Arena

By Richard Cawley

Bermondsey welterweight Chris Kongo moved his record to 8-0 but was forced to endure rough tactics from Serge Ambomo at Greenwich’s 02 Arena tonight.

The South Londoner was given the verdict 60-55, not dropping a single round to his mohican-haired opponent.

But Ambomo’s wild approach made it a difficult fight for Kongo to look good in.

The cleaner boxing came from Kongo and it was no surprise he got it clearly on the referee’s scorecard.
